Joe Root, born on December 30, 1990, emerged from a rich cricketing lineage. .

At the 2005 Bunbury Festival, he earned a Daily Telegraph scholarship 

He attracted cricket scholarships from Workshop College and the Yorkshire Cricket Academy also.

His debut for the Yorkshire Second XI in July 2007, marked by a half-century, hinted at the future star in the making.

 Under-19 in 2010 secured him a three-year professional contract with Yorkshire.

His County Championship debut in 2011 and a memorable 222 not out against Hampshire in 2012 set the stage for his Test career.

Root’s Test debut in India in 2012 was a baptism by fire.

In 2013, he scored a monumental 180 in the Ashes at Lord’s and ended the year as England’s top run-scorer.

He made his mark with a career-best 254 against Pakistan at Lord’s and was recognized as one of the world’s premier young batsmen.

Root took over as England Test captain in February 2017. His tenure saw both successes and challenges.

His batting took on a new dimension, exemplified by his record-equalling feat of reaching 10,000 Test runs at Lord’s in 2022.

In 2015, he was one of England's top run-scorers, and in 2019, he played a pivotal role in England’s maiden World Cup victory.

Root’s IPL journey began in 2023 when he was picked by the Rajasthan Royals.
