A property manager in Redding faces serious allegations of voter fraud, reportedly fired for filling out ballots for former tenants.
The claims emerged from a Reddit comment by user "ManCow2000," who admitted to voting on ballots mailed to tenants who had moved.
He said, "I voted all four of them. NO on rent control. NO on school bonds. and … Trump baby," indicating a clear political motive.
His comment sparked outrage, leading other Reddit users to investigate and identify him as Charles Pierce of Redding.
News outlets reported that users alerted the FBI to Pierce's claims, raising concerns about election integrity.
Tom Toller, Shasta County Registrar of Voters, took the allegations seriously and referred the matter to the District Attorney’s Office.
Toller emphasized, "Voting more than one ballot dilutes the vote of every other registered voter."
Shasta County District Attorney Stephanie Bridgett confirmed that her office is investigating the claims against Pierce.
Bridgett noted, "We look into each allegation and file charges when appropriate to uphold election laws."
Pierce claimed he was fired from his job at Manzanita Manor Apartments due to the backlash from his Reddit post.
He argued his comments were exaggerated and stated, "I did not engage in any illegal activities."
However, if found guilty of election fraud, Pierce could face serious legal consequences, including federal charges.
The situation highlights the importance of election integrity and the severe repercussions of voter fraud allegations.
As the investigation continues, Pierce's Reddit account has been deleted, and attempts to reach him were unsuccessful.
This case serves as a reminder that all votes must be cast legally and ethically to preserve democracy.
